We went to the Imperial Palace today and learned about the royal family and man was it gorgeous! I've been to Versailles and the golden everything and the garden there has nothing on this place! The Austrians know how to decorate! The garden was gorgeous and Grandpapa was telling me many stories about the family as well as how much Grandmama would have loved it.

I had the best lunch today! I think I legitimately teared up it was so good and it was just a simple steak, potatoes and white spargel (asparagus in German). I don't know how they made it, but it was the best thing I've ever eaten! Grandpapa really spoils me with good food!

Tonight we went to see a concert that only played Mozart (because he's Austrian) and it was somewhat tourist-y, but it was a traditional Austrian symphonic orchestra and ballet. I hadn't been to a symphony since I went on field trips in elementary school, so it was really cool to see these people who do this professionally and see the difference between a symphony in the States and Europe. For one the orchestra was much smaller, but it felt so much bigger because the sounds resonated as if there were three times the amount of instruments. In the States, the orchestras tend to be huge with so many different sounds at once. It’s like in Austria they don’t need as many people to get the full sound.
